The company is preserving that record, examining where its accumulated experience may remain useful and establishing the evidence required for any responsible return to active development.

Founded in Griffin, Georgia, Dundee Mills developed expertise across textile manufacturing, consumer goods and institutional supply. Its work included towels, bedding, broadcloth, infant goods, and baby and healthcare products.
Across those categories, the operating discipline remained consistent: define the requirement, understand the user, select appropriate materials, test performance and establish a reliable means of production.

Dundee Mills took its name from Dundee, Scotland, a city whose textile knowledge and industrial reputation were recognised internationally.
Return to Source reconnects the company’s American history with Dundee and asks how that relationship might support relevant cultural, civic and economic activity today.
The programme begins with the corporate record and the company’s original infant representative, San Tropat. He has been instructed to return to Dundee and supervise a public process considering the appointment of a successor Dundee Baby.
Historical research, Dundee participation and prospective local work will be documented through an arm’s-length public inquiry conducted by Dundee Baby. Separate preliminary product research may also be undertaken where a credible brief and qualified partners exist.

Dundee Mills grew from a regional textile enterprise into a substantial American manufacturer. The surviving record documents changes in materials, machinery, labour, product design and consumer needs across more than a century.
That record is being preserved as a working corporate resource. It will support research, correct the public account and identify experience that may still have practical value.
